The Bremen Public Library currently has three book discussion groups held at the library and one held at the Bremen Manor. The discussion groups meet monthly to learn, enjoy and share their opinions and ideas about books.
A member of the group leads the discussion with questions and ideas and gets other members to participate with their points of view. Everyone is welcome but notify the adult department if you are interested in joining a group. The format is informal, talk lively and the books are always interesting.
The Bremen Readers Book Discussion Group meets the third Wednesday of each month from 2:15 to 3:15 P.M. in the library's meeting room. This group was started in November 1999 and grew so much a second group had to be formed. The Readers are led by Marsha Patterson and Shelli Kauffman.
The Bremen Questers Book Discussion Group was formed in June 2000 due to the popularity of the Readers group and the need for an additional group. The Questers meet on the second Wednesday of each month from 2:15 to 3:15 P.M. in the library's meeting room. The Questers are led by Chris O'Brien and Sandra Krost.
The Night Owls Book Discussion Group first met in October 2010. It was started by community members who wanted an evening meeting time. The Night Owls Discussion Group meets on the first Monday of each month from 7:30 - 8:30 P.M. in the library's meeting room. This group is led by Jill Byrd and Holly Heller. Their slogan is "What a Hoot!".
