One Book - One Town - Marshall County

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

The Bremen Public Library is participating in the area's One Book, One Town event, a national movement that challenges communities to read the same book and discuss their responses with friends and family. The book selected for this event is The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind by William Kamkwamba.

The theme of our February Family Reading Program is Read Like the Wind to coordinate with the county wide program. There is a version of the book for younger readers, so all family members can be involved.

During the month of March, several libraries in Marshall county will focus book discussions, programs, and activities on this book and its inspiring theme. We will host a community wide book discussion on March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room. Anyone interested in participating in the discussion can request a book from the library.

Patrons are also invited to hear the author speak at Notre Dame on March 18 at 7 p.m. There will be a book signing and reception after the lecture. This is a free event. If you are interested in carpooling contact the library at 546-2849.
