Library Card Registration Policy (en EspaƱol)

To receive a library card from the Bremen Public Library:

German Township Residents:

  1. New applicants must show proof of residence in German Township plus proof of who they are. Refer to the List of Acceptable IDs.
  2. Fill out a registration form. Children through grade 8 must have a parent's signature on the registration form.
  3. There is no charge.

Residents outside of German Township:

  1. New applicants must show proof of who they are. Refer to the List of Acceptable IDs.
  2. Fill out a registration form. Children through grade 8 must have a parent's signature on the registration form.
  3. Non-resident cards are sold for a $90.00 annual fee for a family card.

To receive a Public Library Access Card (PLAC)

  1. Applicants must have a valid library card from an Indiana public library.
  2. Show identification with your name and current address.
  3. The PLAC card is an individual card. There is no family card available.
  4. PLAC cards are $50.00 for each individual card. They are valid for 1 year from the date of application.

Overdue Notices

You may choose to receive overdue notices by telephone, postal mail, or e-mail.

Video Registration Policy:

  1. To check out videos you must be at least eighteen years old.
  2. Read and sign the following video use policy:
    • I accept responsibility for videotapes for the purpose of home use.
    • I agree to pay all charges assessed in the event tapes are lost,damaged or returned late.
    • I exonerate the Bremen Public Library from any claims, or liabilities for damage or loss of property arising from use of library videocassettes.
    • I understand that Federal law prohibits copying of copyrighted videocassettes.
    • I am 18 years of age or older.

The card owner is responsible for all materials checked out on the card. If your card is lost or stolen, report it immediately to the Library at 546-2849.

To maintain a viable patron file, library cards expire after three years. Patrons may reactivate their borrowing privileges by producing acceptable forms of identification.
