As of April 1, 2021, Bremen Public Library is fine-free! You are no longer charged a fine when items are returned past the due date. Our goal at the Bremen Public Library is to increase access and eliminate financial barriers that keep the community from using our library. Our library exists to foster literacy, knowledge and lifelong learning.
Items will still have a due date. That is so items are returned in a timely manner for the next person waiting to borrow the item.
Cardholders are still responsible for fees on items that are not returned or that are returned damaged. You may not be able to check out materials on your card if you have overdue items. An item not returned after the renewal window is considered lost and you will need to pay to replace the item before you can check out additional items. Once the item is returned, the fee will be waived from your account.
Interlibrary loan items may incur late fees from the loaning library.
